Margo Abdo O'Dell Margo Abdo O’Dell is a renowned teacher, performer and choreographer of Middle Eastern dance. Noted for her polished technique and expressiveness, exceptional teaching skills, compelling theater productions and informative articles, she is a leader in the Middle Eastern dance community. She has received numerous arts grants in support of her unique theater work and her performance video, Tajdeed, has been reviewed and recommended by many. In the September 2005 issue of Jareeda magazine, Shira recommends Tajdeed, "This is my favorite video featuring a collection of solo performances by an individual dancer.” In Habibi, Vol. 20, No. 2, Nina Costanza writes "(Margo) is constantly interesting and powerful. The strength of her dancing, grounded in expert and delicately engineered technique, is based on the singular significance she gives to each moment of the choreographies............Here is a bellydance superstar." Margo’s contribution to the dance community also includes her free on-line newsletter, Margo’s Mezza. It provides information to improve the reader’s Middle Eastern dance and performances, teaching skills, appreciation of Arabic cultural arts and to enhance overall physical and emotional well being. In the midst of a successful business career and her roles as wife and mother, Margo decided to pursue her life-long love of dance. Because of her unique lifestyle decision, she is asked by women's groups to speak about her transition from a corporate salesperson and small business owner to a professional dance artist.
