Monet's dance training began at age 5 with ballet, tap and jazz and continued throughout high school and college. She has trained with some of the most well known and respected jazz and tap dancers of our time. An injury sidelined her professional dance career early so she began teaching. She discovered Middle Eastern dance 6 years ago and quickly fell in love with the art form as well as the supportive environment she encountered. In the short time she has studied Middle Eastern dance she has had to opportunity to learn from many of the top Middle Eastern dance teachers in the world. She has also studied Hip-Hop, Persian, Flamenco, Hula and several forms of Indian dance including Kathak and Baratanatyum.

Currently, Monet is the producer of Pop Raqs a nontraditional belly dance show in Philadelphia presently in its third season. She is also the artistic director and choreographer for the Pop Raqs Dance Ensemble. Pop Raqs fuses the traditional with the nontraditional and has featured some of the area's top dancers. Her goal is to provide an outlet for dancers who love tradition but want to experiment with music and as well as different dance styles as well.

Monet has a love for animals and does rescue in her spare time. She is also the volunteer coordinator for The Alliance for Philadelphia's Animals. She designs jewelry and is a certified competition cheer and dance coach for a national champion squad.

The best section in the video is the “Figure Eight.” P. Farhana does an excellent job explaining all types carefully.
