This nationally known author and instructor has received many awards, most notably Miss America of the Belly Dance 1993 and the Best Instructional Video award from both the 1997 GAMAL Awards and the 1998 IAMED Awards for "The Dancers' Toolkit". She has studied Middle Eastern dances since the early 1970's, and is widely acclaimed for her technique and interpretation as a performer as well as a teacher.  She offers workshops throughout the US as well as SF Bay Area classes. www.barakasf.com
