Heaven must be a better place now. What a loss to the world, Bert was an amazing talent and a wonderful teacher!  In the mid 1980′s a group of dancers followed Bert as he taught seminars around the country and I was very fortunate to be one of “Bert’s Babes” for a time.  There are good things I do as a performer and teacher because I learned them from Bert.

He made me the dancer that I was. He will be tremendously missed by all who loved and admired him, and whose hearts were touched by him. What a time we had  dancing in a tent in the desert with Suhara Zaki. Then posing with Tahia Carioca for the news papers announcing the increasing interest  American's were beginning to have for belly dance. I shall always think of Bert with the fondest of memories.
