Thorough and insightful, love the smashing of mythology of bellydance. Reflecting on my own emotional issues with dancing….how hesitant I feel (at age 50) and self-critical. When forgotten, the true dancer emerges and joy follows. Would love to hear more!

Another wonderfully thought-provoking article from Andrea. Are we satisfied “…with feeling goddessy while working (our) buns and abs”? Indeed!
Our assumptions about ourselves and the dance can alway be examined to good result – but it really does take courage to face facts sometimes, doesn’t it? Thank you for your research & for putting into words these issues & concepts that can help us find ourselves if we care to look.
