Michel Harris just received his Associate of Arts in drama from the College of Marin. Michel has been active in theater for the past ten years and has appeared in many Bay Area productions including the sold-out "King Lear" at College of Marin, directed by James Dunn where he played Edgar. Michel recently appeared in Marin Summer Theater's production of "Into the Woods" for which he received an award for "Best Supporting Actor" from the National Youth Arts Association for his roles as the Prince and the Wolf. In addition to stage productions, Michel is beginning to pursue a side career in voice acting with Bay Area Sound. In his free time, Michel paints, directs, and climbs trees.

Twelfth Night - Fall 2018

10-2018 - "Michel Benton Harris as Sir Andrew owns the stage when he enters,
a combination of dynamic energy, colorful facial expressions, and physicality, seemingly in his element with the Shakespearean fete."

10-2018 - " Harris' foppish Sir Andrew falls too much in the background initially, but rises to the fray in some brilliant fight scenes with Grahn."

10-2018 - "The relationship between Orsino and Olivia, and the twins’ separation, are presumably the play’s main focus, but in Leblanc’s hands it’s the antics of Sir Toby Belch and his sidekick Sir Andrew Aguecheek (Steve Price and Michel Benton Harris, respectively) that provide the laughs.... It’s an amazing spectacle of hyper-comedic excess, and Harris does a very good job of keeping pace with him. It’s so spectacular, in fact, that many of the other performers appear lackluster by comparison. "

"Fools Rush in" theater review by Harry Duke in the Pacific Sun, dated Oct 10, 2018

"characterizations they they steal the show. Steve Price’s hilarious Sir Toby is a marvel of inebriated unctuousness, constantly teetering on the precipice of collapse yet able to participate in the takedown of the haughty Malvolio. Malvolio’s transformation from stuffed shirt to yellow-gartered buffoon to wounded victim is well played by Rodgers.

Michel Benton Harris does the almost impossible as Toby’s patsy Sir Andrew Aguecheek. Often played as an annoyingly foppish idiot, Harris manages to underplay the role and makes the teddy-bear-carrying character cute and almost lovable."
