Jasmine

The Gilded Serpent presents...

Jasmine

Jasmine has been studying Middle Eastern dance and performing professionally for over 10 years. She has been a featured dancer at several top Bay Area restaurants since 1994, including El Morocco in Pleasant Hill, Amira in San Francisco, Ephesus in Walnut Creek, and Tanjia in Oakland.

Jasmine is proud of her traditional American Cabaret foundation, drawing inspiration from Egyptian, Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese styles of dance. She is a regular group and private instructor in Walnut Creek and has taught at Las Positas Community College in Livermore. Jasmine continues to develop her technique through regular lessons and workshops with master instructors around the world.

Jasmine is also an accomplished troupe dancer. She was a member of the award-winning Ya Habibi Dance Company, and was a founding member and assistant director of multi-award winning Raks Sahibat. In the fall of 2003, Jasmine and former Ya Habibi members Monica and Shakira Om Mia formed Raqs Habibi. They were recently named 2004 Trio of the Year and 2004 Best Troupe.

When Jasmine isn’t performing and teaching belly dance, she is busy putting her BA in English to good use working for an international import company. Learn more about Jasmine at her website.
