Divya Venkat
Divya Venkat is currently a senior at the George Washington University and will be graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. In the fall, she will be attending The George Washington University School of Medicine, pursuing her Doctor of Medicine degree. She has been studying Bharatnatyam, a form of Indian classical dance, for 10 years and performed her dance graduation in the summer of 2007. She is heavily interested in global dance forms, particularly the relationship between religion, environment, and their effects on dance style. This is her first paper on the subject of the Kalbelia tribe of Rajasthan.
