Melinda

The Gilded Serpent presents...

Melinda

When Melinda was growing up in the Midwest, her mom was taking evening belly dance lessons from Melinda’s ballet instructor. At that time, two of her favorite activities were playing dress-up in her mom’s coin costume, and mimicking the belly dance students in the back of the classroom when she accompanied her mom to class.

Classically trained from an early age in jazz, tap, and ballet, Melinda found her niche when she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and re-discovered her love of Middle-eastern dance at age twenty-three. She had her first taste of solo performance only three months later in a guest appearance as Little Egypt in the Ross Valley Players’ vaudeville production of The Bella Melodeon, and she was hooked.

She now performs at restaurants and special events throughout the Bay Area, and enjoys traveling. She’s grateful to all her wonderful instructors over the years and looks forward to continuously learning and improving herself and her technique.
