Denis Kavemeier

Denis Kavemeier plays bouzouki and guitar with the Oasis Bellydance Music band in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Oasis has released 4 albums, which are sold throughout the country and overseas. Oasis has won a WAMI award (Wisconsin's version of a Grammy) as the top ethnic music band in the state. In addition to his involvement with Oasis as its co-founder, Denis often performs as a duo with his dancer wife JuliAna, as a sideman with other ethnic bands, and as a solo performer on stage and in restaurants.

A former newspaper and magazine reporter and editor, Denis has written numerous articles about music and dance. He has a journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin, where he also studied music. Denis is the imaging coordinator for the Hal Leonard Corporation in Milwaukee, the world's largest print music publisher. Denis and the Oasis Band can be reached by email.
