Gladys Harrison aka Al Qahira has been dancing for many years.

Her travels have taken her to Europe, where she danced, and Australia, where she also taught. She has made many appearances at festivals, including Rakkasah Festival West as a soloist and with her personal friend, Bert Balladine. In addition to being a versatile artist, she is known for her innovative costume creations. A former Californian, she now resides in Boston.
