Munira
Munira (Karen Proehl) has been dancing cabaret style belly dance since the mid-1990s and has performed at many different venues. A student of Lynette's of Snake's Kin Studios, she helps behind the scenes at Gilded Serpent. She also studies the doumbek with Mary Ellen Donald, performing at various venues.
Karen is an educator who holds a master’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in education. Her recent focus is the effective use of technology in teaching science. She has been with Gilded Serpent from its beginning and has been an editor as well as assisting behind the scenes in projects associated with Gilded Serpent. Karen works on our biannual surveys, data input, organizing, MS Excel, photo prep, and occasional layout.
