Leigh has been studying Middle Eastern dance since 1996, beginning with Isis in Bedford, Texas, and since 2001 she has been studying with Vashti of Dallas, Texas. Leigh was a founding member and was the first vice president of the North Texas Middle Eastern Dance Association. She is the author of several articles for their monthly publication, Papyrus. She sometimes performs under the name Rhykiah with the Middle Eastern percussion group Doumsmack.
