The Gilded Serpent presents...

Neran

Neran (Maureen Dixon): I have been studying dance for the last 15 years. I started with Hula and Tahitian (since I visited the Islands frequently, it was a natural progression) and then met Nisima, who introduced me to Belly Dancing. I bought my first bedleh before I even took a lesson. And, since I now owned a costume... lessons, of course, were the next step. I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for many years and during that time danced at varous Haflas and student nights. I did a duet at the Desert Dance Festival with Nisima in 2003. I have been a student of some fabulous dancers: Baraka, Hala of the Hala Dance Company, and Sherrie Brier. I have recently moved to the south, Knoxville, Tennesse (Ya'll come visit sometime!!) to be precise where I continue my studies, while searching for venues to in which to dance. I can be reached by email.
