Scheherezade

Scheherezade has been involved in Middle Eastern Dance since 1974. She originally began dancing in Buffalo, New York dancing both solo and with Nadia Ibrahims Near East Dance Company. In 1980 she moved to Richmond, Virginia where she co founded the Women of Selket Dance Company and teaches Middle Eastern Dance. Her first trip to Egypt was in 1983 and she founded her company, Scheherezade Imports in 1985. She was the coproducer of the three Nadia Hamdi United States tours in the 1990's. Her work has taken her to Egypt at least annually for the past 19 years.
