Zsuzsanna E Budapest

Zsuzsanna Emese Budapest was born in Budapest, Hungary to Masika Szilagyi, an artist and witch. Masika's artwork and ancient spiritual beliefs had a tremendous influence on her daughter. Z escaped her country after the Hungarian Uprising of 1956. She studied in Innsbruck, Vienna and Chicago. She married then had two sons, now grown and her friends. In 1970, she became a feminist. She then realized her witchcraft background was a natural expression of alternative feminist spirituality. She has devoted her life to it ever since. Z was the first to coin the term Feminist Spirituality. She then advocated the idea that politics and spirituality are two sides of the same coin. This idea transformed the Women's Movement into a globally interconnected phenomenon.
