Arabic Music Classes

pic of Mimi's class

Musical training is fundamental to being a good dancer. Lynette has danced, and studied with these wonderful musicians and recommends them highly!

Georges Lammam, renowned Palestinian violinist and co-founder of Amorfia Productions, shares his musical wizardry through performance, teaching and recording. Classes include: Arabic musical ensemble for instrumentalists who wish to play from the Arabic classical and popular repertoire while gaining familiarity with the maqam system through improvisation and Arabic singing for students who wish to sing in Arabic, well-known songs from the Middle East. Two recent recordings, Melodic Musings, solo violin taqsim (improvisation) and Souk Al Amir, a pastische of well-orchestrated music imaging an exotic day from mosque to cafe, feature the unique musical capabilities of this extraordinary violinist. For more information about classes, recordings or performance please call Amorfia Productions at 415.431.0768.
