Gilded Serpent presentsFrank Lazzaro Frank Lazzaro has
been in the San Diego area since 1986, where he has studied African and
Middle Eastern drumming extensively. He has performed with several dancers
and groups, most notably Urban Vibrations featuring dancers Meleah
and Desiree in the Frank teaches dumbek in both group and private settings, and regularly drums for bellydance classes. He also has an instructional CD available for students of Middle Eastern drumming and dance. Frank has performed annually at Middle Eastern Culture & Dance Association's Cairo Carnival and is a member of San Diego Area Middle Eastern Dance Association. He is active in the San Diego dance scene, and produces monthly shows at Claire De Lune in North Park, featuring live music and dancers. Here he has accompanied John Bilezikjian, Dave Dhillon, and other great musicians, in these exciting and successful showcases. Frank plays regularly with "Middle-Earth" as their lead drummer, and recently completed a CD of mid-east fusion music suitable for belly dancing, intitled "Al-Kimie". He regularly drums for Urban Tribal Dance Company and other troupes, including Marula's student group. He also makes yearly trips to Maui, where he is involved in the vibrant dance community there. Frank can always be found at local events, supporting the music and dance with his enthusiastic spirit.
