Of Pangia
Denise, a professional belly dancer, is the keyboard and zil player for Pangia, and the co-producer and artistic director for their six CDs. Trained in classical music, modern, jazz and ballet dance,she was the co-founder of the original Troupe Mandala, winning multi awards. She has danced, taught workshops and played keyboards and zils all over the East and West coasts and in several cities in Mexico. Over the years, she has presented shows and workshops in both Shasta and Siskiyous Counties, sponsored by the Arts Councils, and she teaches belly dance classes locally at College of the Siskiyous (say SIS-KEY-YOUZ). Denise also teaches workshops with Pat for the Rakkasah Festivals West, East, and Spring Caravan. In her spare time, Denise designs and creates costumes, grows prize-winning herbs, and likes to travel, cook, write and SCUBA dive, not necessarily in that order!
