Gilded
Serpent presents...
Glenn
Schneider
One
doesn't know exactly when and where Glenn was born, but legend has it
that he rolled off the tailgate of a circus wagon in Transylvania and
was found by a Scotch-German acrobat from Minnesota who was touring Europe
in her Model-T Ford, trying to emulate the trips of Gertrude Stein and
Alice B. Toklas, but sometimes going astray.
In his extended
career, he showed his diversity by performing in ballet, Spanish dance
and stints at German opera houses. Having studied in various forms of
dance in Berlin, San Francisco, Barcelona, New York, Madrid and Paris,
he was successful in such a variety of roles as the Witch in Hansel and Gretel, Prince in
Cinderella, Peter in Peter and the Wolf, a Cavalier in the Rose Adagio
in Sleeping Beauty, the Snow King in The Nutcracker, a Root in Merry
Wives
of Windsor, and The Soldier in The Miraculous Mandarin, culminating
in partnering the great Al Qahira in several Rakkasah Festival productions,
as well as a "Tambourine Man"
for Amaya -- and these, along with family ties,
are his connection with the wonderful world of Danse du Ventre.
